CERTIFICATE OF QUALITY: PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) Priego de Córdoba, Andalucía, Spain.

OLIVE GROVE: Wedged between the mountains of the Sierra Súbbetica and the borders of the provinces of Granada and Jaén, the olive groves of the Rodríguez family is located in the heart of Andalusia, Spain’s most southern region.

OLIVE VARIETYPicudo, a fresh, fruity oil; Hojiblanco, a mild, floral oil; and Picual, a peppery, bold oil.

TASTE: Medium intensity, aromatic, and ripe fruity extra virgin olive oil. A perfect balance of fruitiness, bitterness, and peppery flavours.

USESeñorío de Vizcántar extra virgin olive oil is for everyday use. It can be enjoyed by itself, with toast for breakfast, as dressing on salad, as a main ingredient of dishes. And it is also ideal for frying due to the high presence of antioxidants and high oleic acid content.

This olive oil is also good for the skin and hair: it promotes smoothness and toned effects, creates a unique shine, as well easing friction during massages.

OLIVE OIL PRODUCTIONThe olive oil production process starts with the cultivation of the olive trees under strict phytosanitary controls for pests and disease.

After a careful harvest, the fruit is transported to the olive press for an immediate milling to avoid damage to the fruit.

After the milling and pressing of the olive paste at a temperature of less than 27ºC, the “olive juice” or “liquid gold” is mechanically decanted in two phases.

Once the solids are separated from the liquid, the latter is channelled through a vertical centrifuge to remove remaining solid impurities. Another decanting gets rid of excess humidity and prepares the oil for storage in tanks.

Samples are taken from the storage tanks for evaluation by the Regulatory Council for the D.O. Priego de Córdoba.

A selection of oils from the best-scoring samples are assigned the trade name Señorío de Vizcántar.

    Finally found the best EVOO. Legit. The taste is just as described on the website.. I kid you not.

    We used this to go with bread as recommended, the taste was fruity, deep and reminds me of the good quality oil eaten at Italian restaurants.
